This is one of the best ideas I've had in a long time. (sad, eh?) So, Angie's mom rules and sent us rice crispy treats in NYC. We just added a little extra love by smothering them in yummy buttercream frosting. Mmmm.

So. One night we are all sitting around and Angie happens to notice her MacBook Pro battery is WARPED TO HELL AND READY TO EXPLODE! And she calmly replaced it with a backup that she had.

I'm on a train to New York City. Yesterday was my last day working for the Federal Government. I am leaving the safety of the civil service cocoon after ten years. I had it good there and never thought I would leave. But then a dream job materialized before me and I was faced with one of "those moments". You know, those moments that happen to "other people" where they have to make a decision that could change their life. I struggled with the great "stay safe and warm until I grow old vs. pursuing dreams" question, although not for long. It was pretty apparent that it was a no-brainer and that I would ultimately be happier moving on. So I accepted the offer to go work with the awesome people at Lullabot.

I started part-time a few weeks ago and will officially start full-time this Monday. I'm heading to New York to check out the digs and settle in for our summer gig in New York. This post will be a bit long-winded as I dump my personal thoughts about this change and why it is so significant for me. So if you aren't interested in navel-gazing you may want to stop here.
